Dr. Jorge L. Alvarado is an Assistant Clinical Professor at University of California San Diego in Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences. He earned his medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical Center and completed residency at UC San Francisco. Since joining UCSD in 2018, Dr. Alvarado has focused on expanding equitable reproductive care for underserved Latinx and border communities. As a full-scope OB/GYN and provider with Planned Parenthood, he delivers comprehensive services including contraception, abortion care, and gender-affirming care. He also serves as Associate Residency Program Director, mentoring future physicians and promoting culturally competent care. A two-time recipient of the Whitehill Prize for Excellence in Teaching, he is dedicated to compassionate education and patient-centered care.
