Lorna Rodriguez, MD, PhD, has over 30 years of experience in gynecologic oncology, specializing in ovarian cancer. Inspired by her brother’s illness, she aimed to be both a scientist and a physician. She earned her medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico and trained at Rutgers, University of Michigan, and University of Rochester. Dr. Rodriguez has held prominent positions at several leading institutions and led the Gynecologic Oncology Department at Rutgers Cancer Institute for two decades.
Now at City of Hope, she continues her NIH-funded research in ovarian cancer, finding it an ideal environment for collaboration with other dedicated scientists and clinicians. In addition to her research, she is a leader in promoting equity and inclusion at all levels within the institution. She collaborates with the government relations team and has a passion to provide excellent cancer care to all.
